Azi Fanale is a Junior studying Political Science, International Studies, and Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Azi’s research centers around global humanitarian efforts and philanthropic measures as well as Intellectual property and innovation in the age of Artificial Intelligence. Her recent projects have included tracking legislative movements on the Hill in Washington D.C. and their international implications. Closely monitoring domestic congressional and regulatory developments, Azi’s current work has deep involvement in the impact of federal policymaking internationally, in the private sector, nonprofit organizations, and other industry stakeholders. Following graduation, Azi plans to pursue law school and a career in international affairs.
When not serving as Editor-in-Chief for CIRA, Azi serves as the VP of Inclusion and Wellbeing for the Wisconsin Panhellenic Association on the council for Fraternity and Sorority life. Additionally, Azi interns for Wisconsin Rare Disease Alliance, leading advocacy campaigns and engaging with Wisconsin Congress members. She also is a Sculpt instructor at Turnstyle Studios in Madison, and teaches weights-based mat pilates classes.
Originally from Denver, Colorado, Azi grew up skiing the Rocky Mountains and loves spending time outdoors. In her free time, Azi enjoys long-distance running, reading, and (attempting) baking.
