Tony Jing is a senior in Political Science, International Studies, and History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research centers around East Asia and Eastern Europe with concentrations on China and Russia, examining the status quo of China-Russia relations in security terms, and the U.S.-China competition from economic standpoints. Tony’s recent projects have focused on industrial policy and EV developments in China and the United States, the transfer of dual-used goods between China and Russia, and diplomatic visits of officials across CRINK multilaterally. His work has been published with the Atlantic Council and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
Outside of CIRA, Tony is also involved in the Honors Society of Phi Kappa Phi as a Student Vice President, Chinese Language and Culture Club as its Senior Advisor, and the Wisconsin International Studies Major Association as the Outreach Ambassador. He also served as a Peer Advisor for the Department of Political Science at UW-Madison, and a former selected delegate of the Wisconsin in Washington Program.
A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tony has lived across four countries and nine different cities. In his free time, Tony enjoys photography, hiking, cooking, and reading random books about China and Russia.
