Hunter is a junior studying Political Science and International Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His academic interests are centered on the Middle East and Africa, with particular emphasis on public policy and developmental economics. His recent projects have examined drug and development policy in Syria as well as domestic subsidy programs. His work has been published in the Sifting and Winnowing Journal.

Outside of CIRA, Hunter is a former Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellow for Arabic studies. He is also deeply engaged in domestic politics and enjoys discussing issues both at home and abroad, a passion reflected in the many organizations with which he is involved.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Hunter is passionate about his home state. At the same time, his extensive travels abroad have encouraged him to approach issues with an open mind and a broader perspective. In his free time, he enjoys reading and cooking with family and friends.
